Big data is more than just a political slogan; your data defines your business in the global economy. Business data represents the real world and everything that you need to know about it to do anything. Understanding how your business thinks about and uses its data is critical knowledge for business managers, product owners, and subject matter experts. The primary tool for thinking about and making sound business decisions is a business data model. This simple business tool lets you see what you can and cannot do, what limits your current information technology solutions pose, and what opportunities you might be missing.

This hands-on training workshop is designed to give you a simple, time-proven set of business data analysis methods, techniques, and tricks to help you model, analyze, understand, document, and manage business data. This information exists in user views (reports, screens, etc.) and in the minds of the business personnel who may not even know that they have this knowledge. To discover, structure, and document this “data about data”, you will learn an intuitive, top-down approach to business data modeling and a rigorous, bottom-up approach.

NOTE: The techniques taught in this course are methodology-neutral, meaning they are relevant to traditional, UML or Agile development environments. This instructor-led course can be delivered in a series of virtual sessions via the Internet or live your site.
